I’ve dealt with so many students on academic suspension today and I’m getting rather frustrated. No, we won’t waive your suspension… I know you were just a few points away from meeting the bare minimum… and I understand that you’re a “different student” now… And having your mom call for you won’t help the situation — So on my break I decided to create a flier for a workshop I’d like to teach:
So many students want to know their “options” — I mean you could do a lot when you’re suspended. You could get a job, travel, pick up a foreign language or even learn guitar. You’re going to have 5 whole months of Academic Vacation!
*note* – The College of Arts and Crafts doesn’t really exist…

hey man, thanks for the advice. i see that you are running the dadfest 5k; i am also thinking about doing it!
What better way to see Texas Stadium than to finish a 5k on the 50 yard line!
What is academic suspension? In New Zealand we don’t have academic suspension. We let pretty much anyone study anything any time.
If a student’s GPA falls below 2.0 (C average) for two consecutive semesters they are placed on suspension which means they have to sit out a semester. We give them a warning their first semester — they are placed on probation.
The alternate copy was going to read “Academic Suspension & You: Coping with Your String of Bad Academic Decisions”
Dude… I rocked some academic probation a time or two…
You tell you suspended students to stop by the local Army recruiter and start getting their life together. I did it when I was suspended and it made me grow up fast.
That’s a better idea than the stack of McDonald’s applications I keep in my desk drawer.
Well, I think I’ll be the first enrollee of the workshop…
Youkeep McDonald’s apps in your desk? That’s sad and amusing at the same time.
I really don’t but I should haha
