Stop me if you’ve heard this one…

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006

A man was shipwrecked on a deserted island for nearly 20 years. When a ship finally arrived and discovered the man they were amazed at the rather large and elaborate structures on the island.

One of the rescuers asked the man “What is that building over there, with the Spanish tile roof?”

“Oh, that’s my house!” replied the man.

“And that one there, with the large stained glass windows?” asked the rescuer?

“Oh, that” the man said with a bit of pride “That’s my church!”

Puzzled, the rescuer asked “Well what about that one, with the steeple?”

“Oh, that’s the church I used to go to.”

And what you’ve been waiting for…

My big news.  Friends, I’m dying…. to tell you that I’m moving to Denton (Lewisville probably) for my new job at UNT!

After two interviews I was offically offered a position as an Academic Advisor for the College of Arts and Sciences at UNT.  I start Dec 4 which means I’ve got less than two weeks to find a place to live and move in.

Details to follow later.  I wonder if there are any good churches in that area ;-)

Big news delayed until Monday

Until then, a blast from my past… enjoy.

Our friendship depends on the answer to the following question:

Not really.

Well now that we have unsuccessfully discussed authentic community let’s try a simplier topic although it has two parts.

A - One thing (and please, just ONE thing) I love about my church is _________.
B - One thing (again… just ONE) I hate about/would change about my church is __________.

If anybody says “nothing” for part B, I want to know where YOU go to church and I’m calling your pastor to check your story.

Big news. HUGE news - could be good, could be bad… more Friday-ish.

Your comments requested…

Hmmm, tough crowd.  Here is the interactive portion of my blog.

The question:
What does authentic community look like?  Be descriptive and give examples.
